When Keynon Baker moves with his parents to the coast, he faces a grim summer renovating holiday cottages- like he’s suddenly a partner in their dumb idea to enter the tourism business. Still, in exchange for painting cottages, he’s allowed to stay in one of his own, with space for his own darkroom to print his photographs.
Robin is devastated when she learns Chris is going to Italy for the summer, it’s supposed to be their last holiday together before he goes away college. So with time weighing heavy, she reluctantly agrees to join her widowed aunt and bratty cousins on a road trip to Los Angeles. It’s a nightmare from start; they’re barely off the driveway before everyone is ready to kill each other.
